But in order to step out of your own shadow you need to face it first.

Levels

One of the worst feelings has to be feeling stuck. My dentist and the surgeon I shadow coincidentally enough are both a fan of Einstein's definition of insanity, "Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." That is what being in a rut is like. Trying and trying over and over again but not getting what you want. Then slowly you become frustrated that there are no results. Essentially it is like walking around in a circle. Pointless and tiring. The only solution is change, to try something different. The same energy used previously is used up only by doing something different a different outcome is reached. It may take several attempts to find a solution, do not fret, a solution is out there and you can only find it if you look then try and try and try again some more. Best of luck to you to face that change.

You're Not Your Shadow

If you ever feel like something's missing?
Things you'll never understand
Little white shadows, sparkle and glisten
Part of a system plan

White shadows. What a discriptive metaphor of life. We form shadows in our minds, but as these shadows are white they're never really there. A false sense of security. When really we never can understand our part of the system plan. There is no security in this system plan. How terrifying this is, fully feeling and never clinging, neither to the ups nor the downs. An exhiliriating surrender, so raw, real and pure. I challenge you all to face this surrender to the plan, to feel every second. Realize your white shadows as illusions then you will see the blinding white emptiness that is your potential.

There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.

I think inside we all truly know what we want. Like a constant truth that isn't influenced by money, family or the outside world. To better explain imagine having to make a tough decision and you chose to flip a coin since you can't seem to decide. That moment when the coin is in the air and you hope that it's one over the other is what you truly want. Here's to hoping that we all have the strength to follow our true dreams, difficult as they may be.

Reborn Each Moment

Change isn’t something that happens in an instant and than makes everything permanently different. Change is a moment-to-moment choice and we can chose to make the positive choice.
